How do I stop hair loss?

I have starting to go thin on top. My hair line on my forehead is receding and there is a small bald patch on the top of my head. My hair all over my head does also appear slightly more thin that it used to. People have started to notice and make comments which are really getting me down. Im only 22 
What are methods for stopping hair loss, and even if possible gaining back some of the hair i have lost? i have looked into propecia but there appear to be too many side effects.
Please help.
Lol, you must be white, cuz caucasian people tend to bald heaps fast. Anyway I head using horse shampoo is great for rapid hair growth but i think it could help with hair loss

It depends on WHY you’re loosing hair. It could be genetics, the styles you’re wearing, the products you’re using, stress, alopecia aeataetc, chemicals you’re putting in your hair (dyes, bleaching, relaxers, etc), a scalp infection, heat from a styling tool, etc.
If you’re wearing tight styles that pull your hair, cut back and find styles that are easier on your scalp. If you’re using chemicals, cut back to let your hair have a chance to grow back. If you have other symptoms, there could be other issues going on. You should talk to your doctor.
Castor Oil is pretty good at regrowing and thickening up your hair (not the actual strands, but you’ll have more strands so your hair appears thicker). I lost hair a few months ago from stress, and I’ve been using Jamaican Black Castor Oil to grow the spots back. I hate the smell of it, but it’s been working. I’m also 22 and had thinning on my edges (on the sides of my forehead and a spot on top). Again, it all depends on why you’re loosing hair in the first place.
All of these answers have no real support/evidence in their answers. Firstly you need to condition and strengthen your hair. Get Kerastasé Bain Force shampoo form any great salon and get a ultra moisturising treatment such as Kerastasé Masquintense, Kerastasé Ciment Anti-Usure or buy soem pure unrefined shea butter from ebay.
1.) Cleanse your hair really well, wash twice and towel dry your hair by dabbing the towel over it. I mean cleanse it well all over. Use as much as necessary everywhere, make sure you get the roots and everywhere.
2.) Apply the conditioner for three mins if your having a usual shower. If you are doing it overnight leave it in a shower cap and rinse in the mroning. If you sue shea butter your hair will regain its strength.
Sorry for the quick answer. Shea butter is the answer, melt it then leave overnight then wash out in the morning.
