Is the male pattern baldness gene pass on through the mother?

like baldness is on her side of the family not at all on my side. But her fathers family didnt have that problem. her mothers side had it bad. so i heard it mostly passes from the mothers side, cause im worried for my son i thought since i dont have that in my genes he would be ok , you know father to son genes, but now i hear that it really is determined by the mothers genes.
Unfortunately it is true. If a man wants to know his chances of going bald he only needs to look at the men on his mothers side of the family.
