I am sorry, but that is just a scam, there is no such thing as a “follicle booster” Thinning hair is a biological symptom and cannot be helped by shampoo. I assume that you have seen a doctor, what did he/she advise? Hair thins for a reason, and the only thing that you can do is treat the cause.

I think Nioxen is great for thinning hair…It won’t grow your hair thicker or longer but it will take good care of the hair you already have…..I do suggest to my clients that they take biotin or prenatal Vitamins along with what they use externally….biotin is crucial to keratin replacement in hair and nails…. biotin every day with a multi.. or a prenatal will really help strengthen your hair….it won’t work over night give a 3 month try…….And in the mean time be kind to hair you have….nothing harsh on it…..just a lot of TLC…..

If you, like most black women, are relaxed then the relaxer could be the cause of your thinning hair. It causes constant breakage and thinning over time. If you go natural then you’ll see that you still have a head of thick, beautiful, luscious hair that will grow longer and stronger without the harsh chemicals. My natural hair is thicker than my thin relaxed hair, and it’s growing without breakage (yey!).

Not to go on a rage against relaxers, but I’m just stating facts – they are very damaging to African hair types because the chemicals are very strong and weaken our hair, which makes it more prone to breakage. Even if you take good care of your hair at some point years of relaxing will begin to take it’s toll and the chemicals will begin to break your hair. It’s no coincidence that Oprah and many other celebs go natural after they achieve fame – it’s probably because they come into contact with good hairstylists who inform them of the damage relaxers are doing to their hair – if you’ve watched Oprah over the years then she’s talked about the damage and bad relaxers and her relaxed hair was always short. She recently showed a picture of her natural hair and its THICK and mid-back length and many people thought she was wearing a straight weave, but it’s her real natural hair – pressed.

If you want healthy, long hair, but still want it straight then you’re better off going natural and wearing straight sew-ins or flat ironing, because the chemicals are much worse than doing those things.

EDIT: Glad to know that you’re natural. I’d take the advice of the other posters and see a doctor and try to the bottom of it. Sometimes ill healthy can be the cause of thinning hair and hair loss. Sorry, for assuming you were relaxed, but reality is that most black women relax their hair, so it’s a logical conclusion.
